BSA 206 - British New Wave
The British New Wave was a movement of Social Realist films that began around the early 1960s. These films focused on the lower classes of workers with the protagonists mostly being 'Angry young men'. These films largely based their plots on down to earth situations rather than more typica; theatrical issues. Examples of these films are Look Back in Anger (Tony Richardson, 1959), and Room at the Top (Jack Clayton, 1959). Both these films look at love triangles and clashes between social classes.
These kinds of films later went on to influence more modern Social Realist films.
