Geris Game
Geris game is a short animation about an old man playing chess against himself. The animation flows beautifully and the cuts of the animation are well designed to show it as if there are 2 opponents at the table. Pixar could have left it as simple as just the board game, but they went a few steps further. As the game progresses the reactions between Geri and himself get progressively more outrageous to the point where he even tricks himself so he can win against himself. The subject of an old man acting in such a childish manner creates a comical contrast that is both entertaining and captivating as you really don't expect what waits ahead.
Animation wise, this is Pixars trademark style. It is nothing out of the ordinary for them, that being said, the refined quality and readability of the animation really lends itself to improving the final product.
