BSA 206 - 80s Animation

Animation from 1986 - 1989

1986 - 1989 was a time of surrealism. A lot of the animation that came out of that time frame was very contemplative of the mind. For example the Street of Crocodiles by The Brothers Quay explores a mans loneliness in a very nightmarish manner through the use of his puppets.
This time was also a rise of 2d animation, with such hits as Akira rising to popularity worldwide.

Review
The Hill Farm
The Hill Farm is an animation created solely by Mark Baker over the course of 3 years. It is a short film that follow the perspectives of multiple groups of people over the course of 3 days. The animations very basic style lends itself to the plot very well. This wouldn't usually mean a lot, however within the animation there is no dialogue so this becomes an essential part in the story telling. There was no point in the animation I felt confused despite the lack of more blatant story telling.
